EXHIBITIONS

Over the years, I’ve found deep joy in creating exhibitions that weave together photography, storytelling, and community.

In 2018, my first exhibition, Mangahuia, held at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō (Levin’s beautiful local library), explored the deep connection locals share with the Ōhau River and their bond with nature. That experience planted the seed for what has since become a meaningful part of my practice: curating work that reflects people’s lived experiences.

In 2024, I was commissioned by the Ministry of Education to create From Struggle to Strength, an exhibition sharing the journeys of former refugee students settling in Horowhenua.

My latest exhibition, launched in September 2025, was Matenga Kāinga Tahi, Oranga Kāinga Rua – One Door Closes, Another Opens, a project that celebrated the unique way Muaūpoko iwi welcomes Colombian and Venezuelan refugee families onto their whenua in Taitoko, Levin. The aroha shown, including the blessing of each home as families arrive, is truly moving.

Each of these projects has strengthened my belief that photography can do more than document. It can create space for empathy, connection, and real social impact. It feels like my work has found its place, where stories matter and people feel seen.

And yes, I’m already working on the next one!
